Feature comparison

Everything a pool company runs on, side by side.

Scheduling, billing, chemistry and customer communication are table stakes. The difference is what happens to the rest of the business: the money, the team, and the next customer.

Feature bundles and plan names differ between vendors. "Plus" marks features included in Paythepoolman Plus; "Add-on" marks optional paid extras. Skimmer is shown on its Scaling Up plan ($2 per pool) because its $1 Getting Started plan omits quotes, scheduling, route optimization, Orenda, recurring work orders, checklists and live phone support. Jobber chips name the plan where Jobber lists the feature. Ask each vendor for a written quote covering your team, locations and add-ons. Sources are listed at the bottom of this page.

Plans, billing terms and the full calculation

Paythepoolman: $50 + ($15 × technicians). Pool Brain: $50 + ($65 × active field technicians), per its pricing calculator. Skimmer: Scaling Up at $2 per serviced location, $98 minimum, first month free. Getting Started is $1 per location with a $49 minimum, but Skimmer's own plan table lists quotes and estimates, scheduling, job management, recurring work orders, route optimization, the Orenda LSI and dosing calculator, LaMotte integration, required checklist items, broadcast emails and live phone support as Scaling Up features only, and charges $0.029 per service text on Getting Started. Scaling Up is therefore the plan compared here. Skimmer also lists AI Phone ($99/month) and Bookkeeping (from $198/month) as paid add-ons. Pool Office Manager: $125 for the first user + $25 per additional user, month to month; QuickBooks integration is $25/month extra. Jobber: Core $49 (1 user), Connect $139 (5 users), Grow $199 (10 users), $29 per additional user, on no-commitment monthly billing; annual prepaid rates are $29 / $99 / $149. Jobber lists route optimization, GPS tracking and expense tracking under Grow, so Grow is the plan that matches the pool workflows compared here. LOU and POOL360 are excluded: LOU Pro uses per-license pricing ($49 Service, $39 Mobile Only) plus a $1,999 signup fee, and POOL360 does not publish a rate.

Annual differences are 12 × the monthly difference. Every figure excludes taxes, payment processing, add-ons, onboarding and discounts. Paythepoolman's optional Pool Junction customer app is $25/month; payroll is custom priced; SMS credits are extra.

Independent. Not venture-backed.

Ten-plus years in. Still here. Still the same price.

Paythepoolman has run pool companies for more than a decade, moved nearly half a billion dollars in payments to them, and is still privately owned by the people who built it. No investors demanding a return means no surprise price hikes and no fire sale. Our base price has held while venture-backed competitors have raised theirs repeatedly.

Why Paythepoolman

Built by a pool pro. Built to run the whole business.

Most pool apps stop at the service report. Paythepoolman keeps going: the money, the team, and the next customer conversation.

Billing in minutes, paid on time

Recurring invoices, cards and ACH on file, Apple Pay and Google Pay, SMS invoices, and convenience fees so processing costs you nothing.

Routes, GPS and proof of service

One-click route optimization, live technician tracking, and photo and video proof customers can see.

Income, expenses and profit per customer

Bank import with auto-categorized expenses, chemical cost tracking, and reports that show which routes actually make money.

Task Hub: run the whole business, not just the pools

Assign any job to anyone: a customer callback, a repair, a quote to finish, a DMV run, a parts pickup. Every task sits in one prioritized list that ages until it's done, and you can hand it to a teammate in seconds. Leads turn won bids into route stops.

Timeclock and integrated payroll

Hours flow from the field straight into payroll. No second system, no re-keying.

Orenda chemistry, included in Plus

Dosage recommendations, custom chemical lists and automatic LSI, free with Plus. Skimmer reserves Orenda for its higher tier.
